The One Year No Dating Challenge 2015

Okay, friends, 2015 is only weeks away. Did you think I forgot about the One Year No Dating Challenge? Well, I didn’t! Actually, I’ve been thinking about it constantly for weeks. I have read your survey responses, and I want to encourage you this year in this challenge. I’ve been praying about how best to do that.

You’ve heard me say many times that this is the one thing I wish I had done before I got married. I wish that for one year I completely surrendered and concentrated on my relationship with Jesus.

Single friends, you have an extraordinary opportunity – one you will never have after you do get married. An opportunity to grow spiritually, personally, and relationally.

But I want to warn you.

This challenge is not easy. And this challenge is not about getting in good graces with God so He’ll bless you with an amazing man or hoping that “once you quit thinking about it” he will come or trying to find the perfect man.

No, this challenge isn’t about guys or dating or marriage. And it’s not about you.

This challenge is all about God. That’s it. The end.

It’s about your desire to glorify God in your life in whatever life stage or circumstance He allows for you. It’s about growing your relationship with Jesus.

That’s what I want to help you do.

First, pray over the next week about whether God wants you to take this challenge. I’ve written a few previous posts about this, and if you have questions, please refer to them first. Here they are:

Take the One Year No Dating Challenge – 12/31/11

Are You Ready for the One Year No Dating Challenge? – 1/2/14

What If I Meet Mr. Right During the One Year No Dating Challenge? – 1/14/14

Then, if He is leading you to take the One Year No Dating Challenge, and not date for one year, then for right now there are two options for how I can help you.

1. Each month I will post a One Year No Dating Challenge blog post with a monthly theme and devotional and other tools to help you. You can simply refer to the monthly post.

2. You can join the One Year No Dating Challenge focus group for at least three months. This is a group I am forming with about 10 women – so not everyone can join – in order to get good feedback about an eCourse I am thinking about in order to help women taking the challenge more personally and regularly.

This group will include weekly handouts, video vlogs, and a private Facebook group.

The requirement by the women in the group will be to commit to three months and complete weekly surveys about the materials I give and the challenge as a whole.

Even if you are not able to join to focus group, my prayer is to make the more frequent and personal materials available in a eCourse format later in the year.

If you’re interested in joining the focus group, please fill out this survey by December 30th. I will let you know if you are selected by January 1st. Here’s the survey link: One Year No Dating Challenge Focus Group Survey.

Some of the Monthly Themes I am thinking through are:

  • Why me?
  • What’s my purpose?
  • Who is God really?
  • Who am I?
  • Who am I in Christ?
  • What lies am I believing?
  • How can I live out God’s Truth?
  • How can I make God-glorifying decisions in relationships?
  • What are my next steps?

So, will you join us? After praying about it, come back and leave a comment letting me know. Or go to the Facebook page, and leave a comment there under the One Year No Dating Challenge post!
