Single Girl: A Single Woman’s Guide to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Godliness {A Giveaway and Book Review}

When I was a little girl my mom had one of those “School Days” memory books for my brother and me. Each year at the end of the school year she would sit us down to ask us some of the questions in the book. One of the questions was, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

As you can imagine, I had a myriad of childhood dreams through the years from wanting to be a ballerina to a marine biologist.

But there was one dream that was steady and consistent. One dream that my mom wrote on the blank line more than once. That dream was to be a wife and mother – to be a homemaker.

I graduated from high school enthusiastically anticipating college, and I went to college and graduated. Then the years began to pass, one after another, without this dream being fulfilled.

Single Girl

In Ashley Schnarr’s new eBook Single Girl: A Woman’s Guide to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Godliness, she captures the tension that young girls face when their deepest longing to be a wife and mother is not realized soon into their young adult years – the same tension that I faced.

Who am I?

What is my purpose?

Can I ever be content?

Am I less than because I’m single?

But I don’t want a career. I want a family.

Is there a place for me in the church?

Do I need to change to find a man?

And on and on the questions come.

Ashley is a single woman living out these questions with you right now. In her book, she unfolds the layers to the myths, lies, and clichés that single women hear and sometimes adopt as truth, and she gives you practical and biblical suggestions for living your single years joyfully.

A few of my favorite parts of Single Girl are: Pursuing God During the Single Years, Discovering Your Identity, 10 Questions to Ask Before Starting a Relationship, and Where to Meet Christian Guys.

Plus, there’s a FREE mentor group guide available on her website

This eBook is perfect for the young single woman who has always wanted to be a wife and mother and is asking, “Now what?”, when her circumstances are not what she dreamed.

I have seen many positive comments reading “Single Girl” and would love to be given a chance to read it.These resources are valuable to young Christian ladies, in this day in age.

I love how in this time of my life I am more available to help those in my life, and to be able to dedicate myself more for the Lord. It’s a time I am learning to cherish, for my “time” may come. 😉

“There is difference [also] between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:34

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to win a copy of this ebook. :]

I’d be interested in a chance to read this. 🙂 Thanks, Brenda!

What do I like about being single? My independence…while I look forward to the day God gives me a family, I realize that there are many things I get to do now that I won’t be able to when I get married. Like go out to lunch with a friend at the drop of a hat (which is what we did today).

My free time; Even though I keep pretty busy with ministry and my family, I know I have more time now to focus on memorizing Scripture, growing in my relationship with Christ, and little things like curling up to read a good book than I will when I’m married and raising kids (Lord willing!)
