I never knew I was a perfectionist. Until it took me two hours to pick out a baby gift, pay for it, and drive it home, only to return it the next day because it wasn’t “perfect” enough. Then I knew. I, too, am a perfectionist.
However, I consider myself a weird kind of perfectionist. Because, you see, I’m that flighty, creative type person who will literally walk over a pair of shoes laying in the middle of the floor for two weeks and never see them. I’m not one for manicured nails because I don’t like to sit long enough to have them dry. And I’m rarely early to anything. But even though I know I’m not perfect, I want you to think that I am.
That’s what I wrote about in an article published at iBelieve.com called “3 Lies Perfectionists Need to Stop Believing.” Head over there to read more of my story and about these three lies.
Are you a perfectionist? Are you believing these three lies?
