Young or Wise? Which Wife Would You Rather Be?

This past October I hosted a 31 days series called 31 Days of Interviews with Single Women Making a Difference.

There was one woman I interviewed who is 34 years old. When I asked her this question, “What is your biggest pet peeve about the way single women are perceived?” This is how she answered:

“I would say that my biggest pet peeve is that once you’ve hit 30, you’ve reached your expiration date. If God can open up Sarah’s womb way past her ‘prime’ years, then God can bring my husband at any age. I hope to be a wise wife not a young one.” ~ Liv Migenes

Which Would You Rather Be? A Young Wife or a Wise Wife?

I read that last sentence and paused. Conviction set into my heart. I didn’t concentrate on being a wise wife when I was single. I wanted to be a young one.

I think that if I asked single women in their early twenties this question, they would have a hard time answering it. Sure, they know the right answer. They want to say they would rather be a wise wife. But I think deep down the truth would be they would rather be young.

Which would you rather be – a young wife or a wise wife?

Read how I answered this question as a single woman, and my thoughts now in my post for Single Saturdays at Woman to Woman Ministries.
