In November 2011, I took my first mission trip to Burkina Faso, West Africa through Engage Burkina and The Summit Church.
Burkina Faso one of the poorest countries in the world with one of the highest illiteracy rates. One in three children die before the age of ten years old mainly due to poor medical care and malnutrition. Less than 6% of the people in Burkina Faso are Christians.
We partnered with Engage Burkina to build a church, work in a Christian school, conduct evangelism projects in the villages, and show the love and hope of Christ to all we encountered.
We also visited a Compassion International site where I had the rare opportunity to meet the child John and I sponsor who lives in Burkina Faso.
Your prayers are much needed for the people in Burkina Faso. Our prayers are more powerful than anything else we could give them. Please consider praying for them regularly and supporting organizations such at Engage Burkina and Hope for Burkina.
