  • Young or Wise? Which Wife Would You Rather Be?

This past October I hosted a 31 days series called 31 Days of Interviews with Single Women Making a Difference.

There was one woman I interviewed who is 34 years old. When I asked her this question, “What is your biggest pet peeve about the way single women are perceived?” This is how she answered:

“I would say that my biggest pet peeve is that once you’ve hit 30, you’ve reached your expiration date. If God can open up Sarah’s womb way past her ‘prime’ years, then God can bring my husband at any age. I hope to be a wise wife not a young one.” ~ Liv Migenes

  • When Your Singleness Doesn’t Match Your Convictions

The hardest parts for me about being single were the assumptions people made. For instance, they assumed because I wasn’t married I didn’t want to be married – that I was purposely delaying marriage to build a career or find myself or have fun or whatever. When in fact, nothing could have been further from the truth. My singleness didn’t match my convictions.

  • Bible Study Options for the New Year

As the year winds down, hopefully you’re starting to think about your Bible study options for the new year. There are hundreds of ways to spend your time with God – reading and praying – and no one way is better than the other. What’s important is that you regularly spend time reading the Bible. In my opinion that’s at least five days a week. Of course, every day is even better.

If you’re thinking about taking the One Year No Dating Challenge, this is so important for you! The One Year No Dating Challenge is about growing your relationship with Jesus. It is impossible to grow your relationship with Jesus without being in the Bible regularly.

  • How to Help Someone During a Miscarriage

Every Monday I go to the doctor to find out how much more of my baby has left me that week. They take blood and a few days later I get the results. For several weeks now I’ve seen the number of the hormone level decrease.

    And I cry.

It’s good, they tell me, that the hormone that once showed up on a little plastic stick and initiated eternal joy into my soul is almost gone. But for me it’s the last I have of him . . . or her.
