The only thing that has brought me to contentment in my circumstances is to recognize that being single is way better than being in the wrong marriage. And to accept that if I’m not content in my life as it is, changing the circumstances isn’t going to make it better.
I am so happy to have Holly here today. Holly lives in the mountains of North Carolina. She is a 52-year-old mother, and a domestic abuse survivor. I know her interview is going to bring much encouragement and wisdom to all of you!

This time, this precious time has been given to you from God as a gift. It’s a time where a lot of personal growth can take place and a lot of growing in faith and coming to know God can happen. Don’t dither away those opportunities, but bask in them. Use them to find out who you are and who you were made to become, so that when the right man comes along, you have already established a firm foundation of self, so that you are not easily swayed into changing your identity to form around a relationship. Cherish this time, my beautiful girl, it’s your’s!

I’m so happy to introduce you to Laura Moninger! Laura says:
There’s been a painful but fruitful pruning in my heart and life these years, and I can honestly say one of the fruits has been learning contentment and experiencing the joy and peace that surpasses understanding—and circumstances. I’m grateful (did I really just say that I’m grateful for these years of pruning??!) because I trust these lessons on true joy and contentment will not only help me now as a single woman but in the future when marriage and family life hand out their own unique challenges.
When I read Laura’s interview, I could relate to it so much. Like Laura, I wanted to be a wife and mother over all else. I saw that as my life calling and my vocation. When it didn’t happen as soon as I expected, I felt very lost. Laura has such a sweet, mature heart for the Lord. Maturity I wish I had as a single woman. Her interview is packed full of wisdom. Build a friendship with God. He is the Author of Life, He is the Author of your story, and you are His beloved. He wants your trust. Give it all to God. You will not be disappointed.
Rachel is 27-years-old and lives in Indiana. What I think is so fun about Rachel’s interview is that she has seven (yes, seven!) siblings! From someone who wanted a lot of children, I think this is awesome! Rachel has taught religious eduction at her church for four years, and she’s involved in the Pro-Life Movement (again, you have my heart here!). It’s so exciting to introduce you to Annie Downs! Annie says:
Go after your dreams. Don’t wait for permission or a partner or more money. Take little steps towards what you want to do with your life. When you are running after freedom and courage and fun, get to running and look around at the folks beside you – they are doing the same.
What caught my eye the first time I found Annie online is that she’s from Atlanta (so I am!), she went to the University of Georgia and is a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan (I did too, and so am I!), and she has a degree in early childhood education (me too!). A big difference between us (now that I’ve read her interview) is that she’s an off-the-charts extrovert, and I’m an off-the-charts introvert!
Annie is a fabulous a writer, blogger, speaker, and person!! who is passionate about investing in the next generation!
