When my oldest daughter turned about two something fascinating happened. Or I should say it was fascinating to me. She remembered and repeated everything she heard and saw! Whether it be words or stories or something she watched or an experience she had. Her memory was astounding!
I wanted to take advantage of her age and her ability to remember so easily, so I started teaching her a Bible verse a week. We started with the one she (or should I say I) needed most, Colossians 3:20 – “Children, obey your parents in everything for this pleases the Lord.” Then we memorized the Fruit of the Spirit next.
Each week I wrote the verse on a 4×6 index card and put it on the kitchen table. And at every meal we’d simply read the verse after we prayed. It didn’t take long before she could repeat it back to me.
When you sign up for my monthly newsletter, you will get a set of printable scripture memory cards each month. I designed them to fit on 4×6 index cards so that they’ll be easy to print without using a lot of ink. All you need is a set of 4×6 index cards and a printer.
Use these cards with your daughter, a girl you mentor, or even for yourself!
